Stevan participated in CONNECT 2026, an international symposium held from August 31 to September 4, 2026, at Hotel Tara in Bečići, Montenegro.
The symposium brought together students, young researchers and experienced academics from the Western Balkans and other European countries, focusing on international scientific collaboration, Open Science, digital transformation and opportunities for young researchers.
As part of the program, Stevan delivered a lecture entitled “Digital Transition and AI” on September 4, discussing the growing role of artificial intelligence in scientific research, education and computational science.
The lecture addressed how AI and machine-learning methods are transforming scientific workflows, from data analysis and atomistic modeling to predictive simulations and the development of new research tools. Particular attention was given to the responsible use of AI and the importance of combining emerging technologies with established scientific methodologies.
Following the lecture, Dr. Goran Stanić presented “The Impact of AI.” Stevan and Goran then coordinated two interactive World Café sessions on “AI in Science and Society,” encouraging participants to exchange ideas and perspectives on the opportunities and challenges associated with artificial intelligence.
CONNECT 2026 was also a valuable opportunity to strengthen international scientific connections, exchange experiences and discuss the future of research and education in an increasingly digital scientific environment.
More information about the symposium is available on the CONNECT 2026 website.
A dedicated Special Issue, “CONNECT 2025 – Building the Knowledge Society Across Borders,” was also published in AIDASCO Reviews, highlighting the continuing scientific collaboration associated with the CONNECT initiative.
