Scientific Impact

So, you want to compare the scientific contribution of two scientists, or you would like to make a proper selection of scientific journal. Or maybe, you would like to check which higher education institution is making a stronger impact in science. You came to the right place.

Why it is important to be able to evaluate someone’s scientific impact? Let’s say you are working in the Human Resources section of some College or University, where you search for the potential candidates that might work for your institution one day. Or lets say that you are a member of a search committee at some Faculty and that you have to select the best candidate out of the dozens applications. Another example involves a good old selection of a scientific journal for publishing of your research. Or, let’s say that you are a student who wants to pursue a PhD, and you have multiple options when it comes to the host institution.

In all of these cases, you need to be familiar with the parameters according to which you can classify the candidates, journals of institutions. Once you do the classification it is not hard to pick the right choice.

Bellow, you can find links to pages where some of the most important parameters of scientific impact are explained. All of the parameters have been grouped, depending on what entity you would like to evaluate.
